Veterinary Hematology Atlas of Common Domestic Species contains 171 full-color photomicrographs with short morphological descriptions. It provides the fundamentals for recognizing the normal and abnormal morphological features of blood cells of the common domestic species, including dogs, cats, horses, ruminants, and llamas.
The book also contains:
- bibliographic references to information on morphological features, additional diseases, and pathophysiological states not described in the book
- a glossary of terms
- two appendixes that present methods used in the Purdue University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Clinical Pathology Laboratory for semiquantitation of some of the morphological abnormalities. These offer useful guidelines to reproducibly record morphological abnormalities that may be present in a blood smear
